For anyone who doesn't know of Robots by Flight of the Conchords go here:
Just so that you have a better understanding of our costumes.
Also...people can leave comments. You don't have to be a member....just thought I'd remind you (mom, Erica, other family who read this...)

Today.

Today was a really long day. I participated in a brain wave study to get credit for my psychology class. We have to have six hours of study by the end of the semester.

Electrode cap!
And then I spent the whole evening at the art building working on my design project. The assignment was to demonstrate the 8 Gestalt principles by creating images in adobe illustrator. You might want to click on the picture to see it full size.
And...in other news, during the day for halloween I will be a newsie. But at night, Danny and I will be robots! Flight of the Conchords dressed as robots actually. I'm Jemaine.

Fear and Desire

My latest assignment for drawing is to produce two drawings, one representing fear and the other representing desire. The two must also have something in common with each other. So, because Halloween is coming up, I decided to tie that in with this project.

FEAR

DESIRE

Also, for design we did some photography studio work. We had to pick three of our own objects that we found interesting and photograph them at least 12 times each. We're going to do more with the pictures later, but here are my three objects:

One of my favorite necklaces. My mom gave it to me this summer I think.

A pound purry from my childhood. This one's name was Midnight.

Pee-Wee bobble head. This used to be Erica's.
And in other news, I'm getting my very first C in a class. It's actually a C+. And it's actually an 83%. Back in NORMAL GRADING SCALE land that would be a B. Sigh.

I need a Halloween costume. Not scream and not a sexy nurse. I've been thinking about being a newsie. Like in the movie The Newsies.

And...that's all I have for now.

An update on my life.

Alright, so Nick and I met Mindy Kaling...

Danny and I played a drinking game with soda....

And here's my latest assignment in drawing.

He tortured me with his awfulness.

Yeah, yeah, I'm already too lazy to keep writing on this blog. I go through a 24 pack of coke every week and a half.

THE OFFICE IS THIS THURSDAY!!!!!

Rainy days and Mondays.

MY ALARM CLOCK BROKE. It was my favorite. I used it for probably four or five years...so many good times, waking up to its sweet loud beeping...you will be missed, alarm clock buddy.

RIP
2004-2008

So, of course, I had to find a replacement alarm clock. It was tough. Danny helped pick it out. All of the cheap clocks were sold out and there weren't any similar to my old one. But I guess this new one will do the job.

Yes, that's all that I will be writing about today.

No borders, no boundaries...

I love to listen to Simon and Garfunkel as I attempt to draw.

My lunch. Salad...whatever.

Chicago was pretty excellent yesterday. I want to go back to the art institute soon.

I took some pictures of LAR...so enjoy.

Singin' in the Rain

UGHHHHHH The wind and rain sucked today.

But in design today the instructor picked four paintings to discuss in class and mine was one of them...which means she liked it I guess. Weee!

FIELD TRIPPIN' TOMORROW.

Tuesday, September 2, 2008

I'm always thinking one step ahead. Like a carpenter...that makes stairs.

Nick, you need to remember that I have a blog now. Also, maybe I should tell people about it. Hmm.

To do:

1. Buy season 4 of the office NOWWWWWWW
2. Maybe read for art history
3. Maybe study for psych
4. BUY MORE SODAAAAAAA

Today in design we painted. I snapped a quick camera phone pic right before I turned mine in. It kinda looks better in person I think (and hope):

Yeah. Then we just doodled in drawing pretty much. If I ever draw something I'm proud of, it'll probably be posted on here.

I love my best friend Michael.

Yeah, that's him in the background. Playing rock band. I'm so glad he came to visit!!!! And play rock band...

I have to come up with eleven sketches by Tuesday. Five of them just have to be really simple and small, but the others are bigger assignments. I can't really draw so this will be fun.

My classes are fairly easy. Actually they're really easy compared to my friends' classes. Psychology 100, Art history 111, design class, drawing class, and issues in contemporary art which is only once a week. I also have a discussion class for Art history 111 once a week.

FRIDAY I HAVE A FIELD TRIP. All of the art kids are going to the Art Institute of Chicago, the Museum of Contemporary Art, and River North Gallery District. I have actually never been to Chicago. My dad grew up there and he always wanted to go back and visit his old neighborhood and bring me along but...that never happened. So I'm finally going to Chicago.

Michael?

WHY AM I NOT HANGING OUT WITH MICHAEL? I THOUGHT WE WERE TOTAL BFF.

I stopped biting my nails a week ago.

Also I love college. More about that later.
